We are currently seeking individuals for the following positions:
Construction Inspector
We are currently seeking a Construction Inspector with experience in Municipal Reconstruction and Land Development. Qualifications include:
- Completed a civil engineering program from an accredited academic institution;
- Minimum 5 years related field experience in Municipal Reconstruction and Land Development;
- Understanding of local construction specifications and contract documents;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related software;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess a valid drivers license;
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Monitoring and documenting the Contractor\\\'s performance on a variety of construction projects to ensure that contract specifications and proper construction methods are followed;
- Reviewing the site materials to ensure they meet design and municipal specifications;
- Preparation of Daily Inspection Reports, photo logs and as-constructed records while onsite;
- Monthly summaries of work completed by the Contractor and preparation of draft Payment Certificates;
- Office assistance for preparation of contract documents.
Planning Technician
Our firm is looking for a competent, self motivated Planning Technician with a minimum 5 years experience in the municipal planning environment. The candidate must be self directed and comfortable taking the initiative in a fast paced dynamic work environment.
The position will include but not be limited to the following responsibilities:
- Work directly with clients to prepare conceptual plans for subdivision and site developments;
- Preparation of zoning amendments and site plan applications;
- Attend and represent clients at committee of adjustment and planning committee meetings;
- Prepare presentation and display materials;
- Maintain planning files;
- Provide computer assisted drafting, mapping and graphic services;
- Other duties as assigned;
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
- A diploma in a Planning Technology Program from a recognized institution;
- Minimum of five years experience in the field;
- Must be proficient in computer applications, including a competent working knowledge of Autocad, Microsoft Office (excel, word), Sketch Up and Powerpoint;
- General knowledge of the Ontario Planning Act, zoning and land use by-laws as well as familiarity with the subdivision, site plan and condominium process;
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills;
